Cornerstone/Lester Prep

Cornerstone Prep-Lester Campus and Lester Prep Middle School are located in the heart of Binghampton and utilize academic rigor to equip all students with the skills and character necessary to succeed in college and to become life-changing leaders in their community.

In Fall 2012, Cornerstone Prep took responsibility from the Tennessee Achievement School District for educating all students zoned to Lester School in Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade for the 2012-2013 school year.

Beginning in the 2015-2016 school year, Cornerstone/Lester Prep educates approximately 700 children in Binghampton grades Pre-K through 8.

The National Charter School Resource Center (NCSRC), funded by the U.S. Department of Education, recently released a case study on Cornerstone/Lester Prep to understand what makes them a noteworthy turnaround school. View the case study including videos here.

  • Help distribute food to families: Cornerstone Prep partners with Blessings in a Backpack to provide food for families over the weekend. Volunteers sort the food and deliver to the classrooms.

  • One-time events:  There are several when volunteers are needed. Events include helping children transition to dental exams, well child exams and picture day. Volunteers are needed to proctor testing days in August, November and May. Field Day in May also requires a large number of volunteers. Quarterly, volunteers are needed to prepare report cards and other materials to be sent home. Let us know and we’ll add your name to a contact list for these opportunities.
