In order to introduce our members to topics of why Dr. King came to Memphis, we will have a panel of influential figures in the city to help us reflect back and look forward. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Stanford, and will include dinner.
In 1963, sparked by racial injustices of the day, four young white Methodist ministers met at a Mississippi fish camp to write a statement challenging the church for its failure to respond to ongoing destructive racism.
