Exploring the wonder of God's creation together

The Outdoor Ministry at Christ Church Memphis was created to connect people, build relationships and show God’s love through His beautiful creation. We have outdoor-related events throughout the year for all ages, abilities and interests.  Here are some of our events:

Trap Shooting Days

Be on the lookout for trap shooting days, and bring the family as we gather at Memphis Sport Shooting Association in Lakeland to shoot clays, eat and fellowship.

Fall Shooting Outing
Sunday, Oct. 7 | 1-3 p.m. | Memphis Sport Shooting Association

Grab a friend, and let's go shoot sporting clays! On October 7, we will head to Memphis Sport Shooting Association for a round of sporting clays. The cost for this event is $15 per shooter (pay cash at the event); drinks, snacks and clays will be provided. You will need to provide hearing protection, eye protection, #7.5 or smaller lead shot shells and a shotgun.

This event is open to the first 15 people and will fill up fast, so register soon! Questions? Contact Jared Woodruff, (901) 683-6887.

Outdoor Day Trips

The older elementary (4th-7th graders) had a blast this summer going rock climbing, fishing, disc golfing and playing laser tag outside. We will start doing these events year round, so stay tuned for info on upcoming trips.

Fishing Camps

What better way to enjoy the summer than to get away with your buddies for a fishing camp!  We travel to a local lake or pond, spend the night and do all things centered around fishing.

Outdoor Challenge

This is the highlight trip of the year! This trip is great for middle schoolers up to early high school kids. We travel to East Tennessee, North Georgia and North Carolina for our adventures and tackle high ropes courses, caves, white water rivers and rappelling. We sleep in both cabins and tents and make new friends while spending the week in God’s great outdoors. Look for updates on this trip in the late spring.
