wednesdays | 5:45-7:30 PM

MS and HS Refuge meet together every Wednesday. The first Wednesday of the month is BIG – we offer a special dinner (Food Trucks, etc.) that students can buy, along with games. On the remaining Wednesdays of the month, we offer a meal for dinner that rotates each week and costs $3. This includes dinner and a drink.

Below is a typical Refuge schedule for any given month:

1st & 3rd Wednesdays: Large Group
Middle school and high school students arrive for dinner and fellowship time. Students then transition into The Refuge room for announcements, a game and worship. Associate HS Ministry Director Casi Stansbury and our student band lead worship. After worship, middle school and high school students meet in separate spaces for teaching from our Student Ministry staff. Students are dismissed at 7:30 p.m.

2nd & 4th Wednesdays: D-Groups (Discipleship Groups)
Middle school and high school students again arrive for dinner and fellowship time. Students transition into The Refuge room for announcements and a quick recap of last week’s lesson. Students then move into a time of D-Groups, which are broken down by grade and gender and led by a Refuge Adult Leader. These groups meet for roughly 50 minutes to an hour. Dismissal also takes place at 7:30 p.m.

D-Groups consist of a group of students of the same grade and gender who are joined together for the purpose of growing together on their journey with Christ. They meet following large group time in Refuge to discuss the lesson, pray and provide accountability for each other. D-Groups also gather outside of church for social events, mission projects and other special events.

Sunday School | 9:45 & 11 am

Sunday School is awesome! Students get to choose from a number of classes that appeal to them. They can range from straight up Bible studies to spiritual formation issues to current topics. Mix in some donuts and caffeinated beverages, and you’ll see that it’s not your mother’s Sunday school. See you this Sunday!

Our goal during our time of Confirmation is to focus on the foundation of our Christian faith and how it affects our lives, with a special emphasis on how it influences our commitment to the church. The basic layout will walk students through different elements of belief, and, as the weeks progress, begin to look at the vow we make to Christ Church when we become members.
