Answering the Call: 135 Red Tubs, One Sunday

When the need grew, our congregation responded!

This year, Christ Methodist Church committed to providing 135 Red Tubs filled with Christmas gifts for children in foster care, an increase from 100 tubs last year. On Red Tub Day, our congregation stepped forward to claim every single tub in just one Sunday.

Behind that number is a beautiful picture of our church family serving together. Families with young children, Sunday School classes, small groups, and friends embraced the opportunity to make Christmas brighter for children in our community. With the help of dedicated staff and volunteers, all 135 tubs were distributed, demonstrating the generosity and compassion of our congregation.

But the impact extends beyond Christmas gifts. For parents, Red Tub Day provides a meaningful opportunity to introduce their children to the needs of others and demonstrate what it means to serve with Christlike love. For groups and classes, it's an opportunity to strengthen relationships through a shared commitment to serving others.

At Christ Methodist Church, we are called to be Compassionate Neighbors, responding to the needs of others with generosity and love. Red Tub Day offers a tangible expression of that calling, reminding children in foster care that they are seen, valued, and loved.

And the opportunity to serve isn't over! With additional tubs being made available, we look forward to seeing how God continues to work through our congregation's generosity.

We're grateful for every individual, family, and group that has already stepped forward to make a difference this Christmas.
