More Than Candy: Building Community at Trunk-or-Treat

Nearly 300 people gathered for Trunk-or-Treat at Christ Methodist Church, building friendships across generations, celebrating the next generation, and helping children experience the joy of belonging to a church family.

With 24 individuals and families hosting trunks and 10 additional supporters contributing their time and resources, the event brought together members from across our congregation, including Sunday School classes, Young Adults, Special Needs Ministry, and a local Girl Scout troop.

But beyond the costumes, candy, and festivities, something more meaningful was taking place. Children had opportunities to interact with adults they might not otherwise encounter, families made new connections, and our church community came together to celebrate and invest in the next generation.

At Christ Methodist Church, we believe being an Authentic Friend means intentionally building relationships and creating opportunities for meaningful Christian community. Trunk-or-Treat offered a simple but powerful expression of that calling, reminding us that friendships and a sense of belonging are often nurtured through moments of shared joy.

We're grateful for the volunteers, families, and ministry leaders who made this event possible and helped create a welcoming environment where relationships could grow.
