70th Anniversary: A Letter from Rev. Dr. Shane Stanford

Today, we joyfully celebrate 70 years of God's faithfulness at Christ Methodist Memphis.

Since her founding in 1955, this church has stood as a beacon of hope, grace, and truth in the heart of Memphis. We give thanks for every prayer prayed, every life changed, and every soul served through this community of faith.

As my family and I look back on our nearly 11 years at Christ Church, we honor the legacy of those who came before us—visionary leaders, dedicated members, and faithful servants who built a strong foundation that has played a major role in the place it was planted. As we look ahead for Christ Church, we are filled with hope and purpose, trusting that the same God who led you through seven decades will continue to guide you forward.

May this milestone remind us that the Church is not just a building, but a living testimony to the power of Christ working in and through His people.

To God be the glory-for the past, the present, and all that is to come.
