70th Anniversary: A Letter from Rev. Dr. Steve Dodson

Dear Christ Church family,

Grace and peace to you from the Dodson family in Georgia! Congratulations on the occasion of celebrating 70 wonderful years of transformational ministry. We remember our time among you and are grateful for the ways God enabled us to share in your vital history of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.

I am especially thankful for the joy of helping launch Cornerstone Prep--the urban Christian Academy. I was honored to receive the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. "Drum Major for Peace" Award from the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 2009, as a result of your wide-ranging ministries in greater Memphis.

We recall, with fondness, the many friends we made through Bible Studies and small group meetings. We are honored to have remained in close contact with many of those friends and celebrate the ways our families have grown together in serving the Lord. I was humbled to be part of a mission trip to Zambia with a committed group of servants from Christ Church, where the Lord moved in my heart with power. That trip was a motivating force that led to my eventual partnership with TMS-Global, where I served a term as Chair of the Board of Directors.

Each of these experiences reinforces the influential role of Christ Church in my life, in the Memphis region, and around the world. You have expanded that influence for the Kingdom through the gifted leaders who have served among you. May God continue to guide and multiply your ministries for another 70 years!

With heartfelt gratitude,

Steve Dodson
