Caring for Tomorrow: Wisdom and Preparation at the Care Ministry Fall Luncheon

On October 25, Christ Methodist Church's Care Ministry welcomed 25 attendees to its Annual Fall Luncheon, offering practical guidance on preparing for the future and caring for the people we love.

Featuring attorney Matthew Rhodes, the gathering focused on important legal and personal planning decisions, including wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, beneficiary designations, and organizing essential family information. Through an engaging question-and-answer session, attendees gained a clearer understanding of the steps they can take to prepare themselves and their families for life's unexpected challenges.

The event also created opportunities for new connections, with 16 individuals expressing interest who had not previously been connected through this ministry.

But the most meaningful impact came through the conversations that followed. One attendee shared, "My family has been putting this off, but now I feel like I have the right questions to ask." Another expressed appreciation for gaining clarity about charitable giving and future planning.

These responses reflect the heart of Christ Methodist Church's Care Ministry: helping people navigate life's challenges with compassion, wisdom, and the support of Christian community.

At Christ Methodist Church, being a Compassionate Neighbor means caring for others in practical and meaningful ways. Sometimes that care looks like walking alongside someone in grief. Other times, it means equipping individuals and families with the knowledge they need to make thoughtful decisions today that may ease tomorrow's burdens.

Through gatherings like the Fall Luncheon, Care Ministry continues to create opportunities for connection, encouragement, and practical support, reminding us that caring for one another extends into every season of life.

We're grateful for our Care Ministry team's leadership and for everyone who helped make this gathering possible.
