Regarding Our New Goals as a Faith Family
As you are already aware, the Christ Methodist family has adopted a new series of God-honoring goals that flow from our mission and vision. As we pursue our new goals, a new series of initiatives will roll out in the coming months.
100% of the Congregation Engaged in Daily Worship Through Prayer and Bible Reading
While more is coming to equip the church body this fall, here’s a link to help you get started in patterns of daily worship, prayer, and communing with God through Bible reading.
You can access it HERE.
100 Members Involved in Ongoing, Intentional Discipling of One or More Audlts*
Our Discipleship Pastor, Grant Caldwell, has already been hosting regular rhythms of equipping opportunities in intentional disciple-making for the last year and a half. This has been symptomatic of our church moving from merely being a teaching church to an equipping church. We are prayerfully seeking 100 Christ Methodist members who will commit to being equipped and engaged in making disciples who make disciples. (This is based on Jesus’ command to His church in Matthew 28.)
New opportunities for equipping will be offered this fall. If you would like to get a jump-start in being equipped in intentional discipleship, here’s a link to wonderful equipping that’s free of charge and was developed by my friend, Curtis Sergeant, Transform Lives.
You can access it here: TRANSFORM LIVES.
*I have also referenced principles on intentional disciple-making by lifting segments from an article I wrote some time ago titled, “12 Axioms of a Discipleship Resurgence.” Each of these axioms has been featured in WFPP for the last 12 weeks to equip you as we labor together to fulfill this ministry goal for God’s glory.
100% of the Congregation Engaged in a Small Group Within the Church
Christianity is an embodied church experience. And, it’s intended to be lived out in meaningful community with other believers. The Bible is full of descriptions of how the church is to practice her life together, which is impossible for a believer to live into apart from deep community with other believers.
Christ Methodist offers a whole series of small group gatherings through Sunday School and Wednesday Night Discipleship groups. To explore Sunday School offerings, check out this LINK.
100% of the Congregation Engaged in Service with One or More CMC Ministry Partners
More information on how to engage with our ministry partners will be coming this fall. But to help you with good information, here’s a list of our local mission partners: LIST.
Here’s a list of our Global Partners: LIST
20% of the Congregation Engaged in Ministry Teams
Nathan Cook, our Mission’s Minister, along with the Christ Methodist Missions’ Team, has developed a system of ministry teams built around ministry affinities ranging from education, homelessness, human trafficking, economic development, medical missions, to many more. Each of these teams will seek to enhance collaboration and initiatives through our congregation for the sake of maximum impact.
More information will be forthcoming in the fall!
30 New Organic Churches Planted with a Focus on North Africa and Asia
Our team, which served in Asia in the fall of ’24, shared the Gospel and engaged and trained new believers in patterns of ongoing discipleship. We are awaiting word regarding how much of this work is sustained, so that we know how many new churches were planted. We will be sending a second team into Asia in the fall of ’25 to plant new churches as well.
In addition, Christ Church sent funds to Living the Faith Ministries in Africa to build a new church building ($10,000) for a new church plant in 2025. In the previous year, Christ Methodist sent resources ($10,000) from a special fund to buy land for the new church. LTF has also planted a new church among an unreached people group on Mount Elgon outside of Nairobi.
As the Christ Methodist family raised more than $50,000 to equip Fulani believers in the spring of 2022, and has sent numerous teams (Laura Whitsitt, Natalie Allen, and others) to serve in equipping the Fulani to reach their own people with the Gospel, numerous organic churches have been planted among this unreached people group.
Why do I share all of the above? Your Pastor wants you to see that planting new churches is not impossible but is doable. May God give us the grace to reach new people for Jesus Christ by planting new churches for His glory!
